Happy Weekend
Happy {long/Easter/Passover} Weekend! Not only is Friday my favorite day of the week, I especially enjoy Friday’s like these when the boyfriend gets to work from home. Which of course inevitably leads to a Downton Abbey season 2 marathon, of course. The weather is gorgeous and the weather this weekend won’t disappoint even the angriest New Yorkers.
I am especially excited for the weekend in the city, as I have been out of town for the past 2 weekends. I plan on a wonderful afternoon stroll whilst sipping coffee with the boyfriend – let’s be honest here, we will most likely stop by our favorite neighborhood gastropub, Brickyard, and grab a crisp craft beer. Maybe even catch some baseball, sigh, a girl can dream. Tonight will be completed with tapas and wine at our favorite new neighborhood spot, Bricola. {it’s a MUST}
Briciola
Tomorrow we are going to Ball’s and Beer’s, an event featuring the best NYC meatballs and unlimited craft beers. I am super excited as I am a huge lover of craft beer and we are going with a great group of friends!
Easter Sunday will be celebrated with a picnic in Central Park, one of my absolute favorite things to do! With this weather it is a sin to not be picnic-ing. I’ll keep you posted on the menu, but I have some extra asparagus that need to be used so that might have to be a prosciutto wrapped little number.

Thankful Thursdays
The importance of gratitude is often always overlooked. Thus, I have decided to post at least one thing I am thankful for every Thursday. Honestly, I have so much to be thankful for that I could probably do a post everyday, but we all know thats a little much. It is important for me to be thankful for the little things in life. Of course I am thankful for my family, friends, boyfriend, life and all of the “typical” things one is thankful for. Which I hope the people around me realize how grateful I am to have them in my life and I try to do my best to show my gratitude daily.
Today I am thankful for fresh blooms! Fresh blooms mean the arrival of spring {my favorite season} Blooms wouldn’t thrive if it weren’t for this amazing weather we are having in New York City, to which I am forever grateful.
Tulips in Central Park
Coral Roses {I’m usually not a huge fan of roses but I couldn’t resist the coral!}
Daffodils and Hyacinth’s planted around the city.

Sucker for Seersucker
Spring is in full bloom and I’ve caught the spring fever. One of my favorite things about spring is the fashion! I love, love, love pastels and all things preppy {reminder: I’m from the South}. Seersucker is probably my favorite spring trend in fashion, it always reminds me of the Kentucky Derby and it’s an all time classic. Even my grandfather {who is very dapper, might I add} has a full seersucker suit! It is a definite staple for the spring.
Seersucker was introduced during the British Colonial period to keep the British cooler in warm weather. When seersucker arrived to the United States, seersucker was mostly worn by Southern gentlemen in the south to stay cool in the humid climates. The fabric was originally worn by the poor in the U.S. until undergraduate students in the 1920s, in an air of reverse snobbery, began to wear the fabric. Now, I am no snob but let me tell you, there is nothing more handsome than a man in seersucker.
Seersucker isn’t only for men, ladies check out the cutest seersucker trends.

Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday to my mom, my very first and best friend. Today is my mom’s birthday and unfortunately I’m in New York and she’s in Houston and I am unable to share such a special day with her. So, I decided to dedicate a post to her. I mean she is the woman behind my creativity, always inspires me and taught me pretty much everything I know. My mom introduced me to Interior Design and Decoration and for that I am forever grateful. My mom is the strongest woman I know and would be lucky just to be half of the woman she is.
Today is a celebration of the gift you bring to the world. Spend your day smiling, knowing in your heart what a treasure you are and how very much you are loved.
I hope all of your wishes come true.
Enough said. Thanks for not killing me, even when I deserved it.
Penny? How did you learn how to blog? This is from her.
Lastly, thank you for always accepting me as I am.
I love you mom, Happy Birthday!

Color Crush on Coral
As the flowers start to bloom around the city I cannot help but admire all of the pops of color. My favorite color that I’m currently crushing on. I blame the blossoming cherry blossoms and per usual, Kate Spade.
See? How can you not be inspired by the blooms in Central Park.

Kate Spade: Watches
Just when I think Kate Spade has peaked, she continues to impress me and lure me in with the bold colors and ample polka dots. When I saw the ad for the new watches (bangle style) that Kate Spade has designed I was beyond giddy.
DELACORTE BANGLE
I think I need one to add to my Kate Spade bangle collection.
